Receiving no reponse from facebook server when running the application from localhost

Hi all,

Can anyone know why the facebook server has denied accessing the applications from the localhost.

Its important for me to debug the application from the native system.

Iam not able to crack this error.

Server Error in '/sample' Application.
A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond

Thanks in advance,
Johnson.

Hi all,

Previously, I haven't mentioned anthing in the IP addresses box in the edit setting's page for testing the app from localhost.

Do we need to provide IP address in the edit setting page for running the application on localhost?

Thanks in advance,
Johnson.

The Facebook server can not access localhost and it's not possible to debug a FBML app on localhost.

Hi all,

Thanks for the reply.

I am developing my app using iframe not an FBML type of app.

Yes i know that the FBML server cannot render the FBML tags when the application is running on localhost.

But my application used Iframe and I am not using any FBML tags in my application.

Just accessing the functions using ME.FBService.functionname() to write somethinf in my pages.

I think the facebook server has to load the pages.

I am facing this problem from the last week.

I am using Facebook toolkit (VB Version 1.6).

Please can anyone help me to getting out of this hole.

Thanks,
vara.

Finally, I got resolved.

Thanks to the steve example.

Add this code in the web.config file, if your unable to run the application on the localhost.

<system.net>
<settings>
<!-- Without the following attempting to call FaceBookService.CreateSession results in:
The server committed a protocol violation. Section=ResponseStatusLine -->
<httpWebRequest useUnsafeHeaderParsing="true" />
</settings>
</system.net>

Thanks
Johnson.
