Grant extended permissions in WinForm

Dec 2, 2009 at 12:48 PM

Hi Friends!

I'm trying to write a simple WinForm (.net3 no WPF or browsers) app which will update my status and other info.

after making login using

facebookService1.Api.Session.Login();

i can get all user's data, but trying to execute

facebookService1.Users.SetStatus("new status");

throws the exception saying:

"Updating status requires the extended permission status_update"

How can i request the needed permission from user?

What I do is to create a list of permissions I need before I create the session.

Here's my VB.Net code:

Dim P As New List(Of
Enums.ExtendedPermissions)
P.Add(Enums.ExtendedPermissions.offline_access)
P.Add(Enums.ExtendedPermissions.video_upload)

Dim S = New Facebook.Session.DesktopSession(My.Settings.FBAppKey, False

, P)
S.ApplicationSecret =My

.Settings.FBAppSecret
S.Login()
