Debugging FBML code

Dec 11, 2009 at 9:11 PM

Hi guys,

I'm new to pretty much all web development (but familar with c# and programming in general) so i have had a huge learning curve today getting anything to run, but i'm now totally stuck:

Is there anyway to debug FBML canvas apps without having to host your own web server? (which i am unable to do due to my router)

Even a simple callstack displayed in the web-page would be useful - the facebook 500 error code is totally useless for tracking down exactly what went wrong :(

Cheers, Paul.

Paul, I'm having the same problem. Did you figure out a way to debug a FBML application?

void Application_Error(object sender, EventArgs e)

write above statements in global.asax file.Then create page with name Error.aspx.

Write below statement in page load

This works in IIS6 perfectly for IIS7 you need change IIS setting to classic mode.

Thanks for your response.  I have done that but I still get this issue:

The URL did not respond.

Please try again later. We appreciate your patience as the developers of Smiley.NET and Facebook resolve this issue. Thanks!

If I open that page locally or directly without going trough FB i get a blank page with this as source:

<fb:redirect url=""/>

Does FB not allow IP addresses for apps (while testing)
