Please note: After several months of analysis and recent discussions with Microsoft we have decided to discontinue support of this library. The library grew to the point that it is hard to maintain and was designed when Facebook's api was different and types of applications being developed were different. We have considered changes that would make things easier, but after discussion with Microsoft and after examining the new sdk that has been published by some of our colleagues in the community, we feel that the new library provides a very solid and flexible approach to building facebook apps and seems that it will be easier to maintain moving forward. We are planning to lend our support however we can to the new sdk listed below. Thanks to everyone who has invested their time and effort into supporting this library over the years. I am sure that the leaders of the new library would appreciate the feedback and support that we have gotten.

The new SDK has been completely retooled and it incorporates Facebook’s latest capabilities like the Graph API and REST API Calls. You will also find useful sample apps to get you started such as:

I have integrated facebook with my web application but I am having a problem I can retrive the Name,Image and other information but I also want to get the email address of my friends. I'm using .NET Microsoft SDK for Facebook Platform 2.1 Please help me how to do this .. Regards,Mark

Beta Release: Version 3.1!

This release includes the dashboard api as well as several bug fixes and patches.

Official Release: Version 3.0.2!

The main goals driving the release of version 3.0 were:
• Provide better doc and samples
• Provide support for Silverlight
• Provide support for ASP.NET MVC
• Provide improved support for WPF
• Provide improved support for FBML (FBML Server Controls)
• Provide a login control that can be used to replace the BasePage and/or MasterPage for Canvas Development
• Improve out of the box support for Extended Permission Prompts
• Refactor core source to improve maintainability and design
• Fix known bugs
As part of this, we worked closer with the Developer Division at Microsoft to help design the Silverlight and WPF support. Also, after discussions with Microsoft it was decided that the namespaces and methods should be updated again to be more consistent with traditional .NET apis. This will cause some breaking changes to everyone as they move to 3.0. But, the main goal is that we wanted to get it right this time so that this could become an officially supported client library. Microsoft is working with Facebook to get the toolkit identified as the officially supported library. The plan is to provide real-time support and updates to keep the toolkit in synch with the Facebook API.

We also now have the help documentation available online (in addition to the chm files that is published with the release). Clarity Consulting Inc. http://www.claritycon.com developed the original Facebook Developer Toolkit for the Microsoft Visual Studio Express Team. We have seen great feedback and suggestions for improving the code base. We worked with Microsoft on an idea to keep the code relevant and up to date for all the Facebook Developers.
