winform: Is it possible to catch an notification/wall event?

I'm using VB.net 2008 windows form application:

Imports Facebook.Schema
Imports Facebook.Winforms

Public Class Form1

    Dim Fbs As Facebook.Winforms.Components.FacebookService

    Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
        Fbs = New Facebook.Winforms.Components.FacebookService(Me.components)
        Fbs.ApplicationKey = "getyourownkey"
        Fbs.ConnectToFacebook()

    End Sub

End Class

Is it somehow possible to catch an facebook event?, I want my application to react if there is a new wall item,notification or message?

Is there in this SDK a class which raises such a event?, or do you have to manually scan the messages on a timer?

Thanks in advance.
