create an FBML app

May 27, 2008 at 2:43 AM
I've tried to create an FBML app with the toolkit.  Unfortunately, I'm getting a facebook error.  Does anyone have any example code using the toolkit with an FBML app that they can post/share?

I think my problem is configuration in facebook.  I have a page that works on its own.  I have it setup as Canvas iframe app.  I change the configuration to be Canvas fbml application.  I change the base page type to CanvasFBMLBasePage.  I'm getting an error when I attempt to load the page in facebook.  The error lead me to believe its a config issue with my app in facebook.  The error is below.  Any suggestions are appreciated.

The URL http://localhost:12345/WebSite/ is not valid.

There are still a few kinks Facebook and the makers of MapSplore are trying to iron out. We appreciate your patience as we try to fix these issues. Your problem has been logged - if it persists, please come back in a few days. Thanks!

I've tried to create the simplest example to get things working.  The codebehind is

using

System;

using

System.Collections;

using

System.Configuration;

using

System.Data;

using

System.Linq;

using

System.Web;

using

System.Web.Security;

using

System.Web.UI;

using

System.Web.UI.HtmlControls;

using

System.Web.UI.WebControls;

using

System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts;

using

System.Xml.Linq;

using

Facebook;

using

Facebook.WebControls;

public

partial class SocialNetworks_Facebook_Default2 : CanvasFBMLBasePage

{

protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)

{

}

}

The ASPX page is

<%

@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Default2.aspx.cs" Inherits="SocialNetworks_Facebook_Default2" %>

<!

DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

<

html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

<

head runat="server">

<title>Untitled Page</title>

</

head>

<!--<body>-->

<div>

Test

</div>

<!--</body>-->

</

html>

PS. Sorry, I've been away thsi week.

Ok, I missed that you can't have an fbml application running against localhost.  That solves problem #1.  Yippeee.
